Misty is a very cute little white pony. We don't know much about her past, but she wasn't taken care of very well. Her feet are in very bad shape but we have faith that our farrier can fix that. I think that after her feet are fixed, she could be a very nice pony! More info soon.

UPDATE (January 26, 2009): Misty is making huge leaps and bounds. She was hard to get to start gaining weight but is now almost where she needs to be. Her feet are almost normal thanks to natural trimming by our farrier, Louetta Plumlee. She has been fitted with boots and is being evaluated as a child's pony.

UPDATE (November 25, 2009): Misty is fat and feeling good, her feet are healing very well and she is ready for a job. Her right knee is giving her trouble and we are going to put her on a supplement to see if that helps relive some of her discomfort.

Shine On Me Sunshine

Shine is a 9 y/o TB mare. She is quiet and sound but has never been halter broke. She has no limits as to what she could do. We do have her papers.

UPDATE (May 5, 2008) Shine is an exceptionally wonderful horse. We've been working with her as best we can with the weather and she is doing great. She's not a dead head but is very quiet and not prone to exploding. We will have a saddle on her soon and then it won't be long before we're riding her! She would make someone a great English or speed prospect! We won't know for sure until later in her training but right now it seems she will make a good child's prospect.

UPDATE (January 26, 2009): Shine has injured her leg somehow and had to go to the vet. She is recovering nicely and is expected to be back to 100% soon. While stalled we are continuing her training from previously in the year (due to weather and time restrictions she was turned out w/o further training) by saddling and bridling her.

UPDATE (July 19, 2009): Shine is finally going under saddle. I feel like a proud parent!! She is doing very well and is proving me correct in feeling she will make a good child's prospect. She is very calm and willing and ready for someone to take her training further!

Ginger

Ginger is a young BLM mustang mare that was saved from going to the killers. She is quiet and wants to be friendly but is very afraid of ropes, thus very hard to catch. I think once we take care of that problem, she will advance quickly in her training. Her adoption fee will go up once she is going under saddle.

UPDATE (May 5, 2008) Ginger is doing great. She is a very easy keeper but is still unsocialized. She keeps getting put at the bottom of the priority list of horses that need work. We would love a volunteer to come and work with her!

Hope

Currently at a foster home

Hope is a sweet little gaited mare. The vet says she's about 25 yrs old. We don't know a lot of facts about this ole gals previous life but it's an easy guess that it was pretty tough. Judging by her looks, she suffered ill fitting tack along with who knows what else. Her owners sold their house and let the horse go with it, thus going through several owners who knew nothing about horses. Thanks to a very kind hearted next door neighbor, Hope was rescued from near starvation and severe neglect. Due to health problems, she couldn't stay there so we have the privilege of taking over the care of beautiful Ms Hope. She is now gaining weight nicely on Senior feed and enjoying life again. She would really love a home where she will never ever have to worry about ignorance and neglect again.

UPDATE (March 4, 2009): Hope is doing SO good. She is very lively and feeling good. We are going to put her under evaluation for some sort of job that she may be able to do!

Biscut

Biscut is a sorrel and white 2 y/o gelding. He is half Saddlebred and half Quarter Horse. He has hardly been handled and is going to take a quiet hand but should be a fine horse. We've done some halter training but he needs a lot more.

Charlie

Charlie is one of our favorites. He is an awesome little guy that was turned out and abandoned and left to fend for himself for almost a year. People in the area kept an eye on him until they discovered us and had us come get him. He is very people friendly and easy going. He is an excellent child's horse prospect in both size and temperament and is ready and able to start under saddle as a 2 year old.

UPDATE (March 16, 2009): Charlie has gone to a foster home with the hopes that he will end up a permanent resident. He is doing very well in his training and things are looking good!

UPDATE (July 19, 2009): Charlie is doing very well under saddle although his foster home has decided to keep him up for adoption. He would make a great horse for a teenager!

UPDATE (November 25, 2009): Charlie is back home and ready to go to work. He definitely needs an experienced rider to start with because he has a bit of a stubborn streak but I think time and miles will help that.

Sweet Tea

Sweet Tea has returned to us from her adoptive home. She is underweight but should gain it back quickly. She is a very friendly 5 y/o sorrel TB mare that is going to need someone to do some ground work with her before hopping on her back. She has great potential as an English prospect (very pretty mover!) or maybe a speed event horse.

UPDATE (March 16, 2009): Sweet Tea has been adopted twice and we've had to bring her back twice. Neither time has been her fault. She is a very sweet mare that is going very well under saddle but is still green. She would make an awesome speed event horse or would be beautiful in a show ring (ENGLISH!). This picture is after we brought her home from her first home and she wasn't looking so good. She looks great now!

Angel

We don't know much about Angel yet. She has trust issues but is definitely not past the point of no return. There is just something in her eyes that tells me she wants to please if we'll just give her a chance. She is just out to pasture for now, but will be brought up for training under saddle soon. Her adoption fee will go up at that time.
